FAQs

A. No running cost required.

Pipetector does not require any maintenance or running costs. There is no need of cutting pipes or dosing chemicals, and the product itself is maintenance-free throughout its lifespan.

A. If you have an average water consumption for residence, the device will be effective within a few weeks to a month from installation.

For buildings with an average water consumption (200 ~ 300 liters per day), the device reduces the level of iron content in a couple of weeks to a month. If the consumption is small, it may take three to six months from installation at the latest.

A. Not at all. It’s completely harmless.

Pipetector does not affect our health whatsoever. The NMR phenomenon caused by the device is also used at hospital’s MRI equipment because of its high safety. Since Pipetector generates weak electromagnetic waves, it does not harm a person with a pacemaker.

A. No, it’s not.

Pipetector utilizes free electrons in water, a.k.a. hydrated electrons, to reduce internal red rust to black rust. It is a type of electrical protection.

A. There are rare metals contained in Pipetector that emit a specific length of electromagnetic waves by themselves. Pipetector is therefore completely stand-alone and thus requires no battery or external power supply.

Pipetector reduces red rust to black rust, using free electrons in water.

A. Approx. 6 – 7 hours.

When water passes through a pipe fitted with the device, water clusters are broken into smaller pieces in the phenomenon of nuclear magnetic resonance. This phenomenon occurs on the hydrogen nuclei and lasts six to seven hours. Water clusters do not recombine during those hours. That is when hydrated electrons are relocated from the inside of water clusters to their outer surface. The relocated electrons are then emitted throughout the pipe system and attach to red rust with the presence of kinetic energy caused by water flow. Those electrons prevent the formation of internal red rust, water discoloration and extend the lifespan of pipes, maintaining the activated state of water.

A. There is no difference by pipe material as long as corrosion problems stem from internal red rust.

Pipetector is basically effective on any metallic pipes, such as galvanized steel, vinyl chloride-lined, stainless steel, polyethylene-lined steel, and copper.

A. Its effectiveness is tested in a comparison of iron-ion contents in water before and after installation.

There are three major ways to do so; one is to take water samples, the second is to test with filters, and the third and last is to cut pipes and analyze the ratio of increased black rust to total rust.

A. The device supplies free electrons to red rust inside pipes.

Pipetector reduces red rust to black rust by using free electrons of water.

A. Red rust and black rust are completely different substances.

Red rust dissolves in water and corrodes iron, while black rust is a solid substance that does not dissolve in water, has 1/10 cubic volume than red rust. Once red rust is reduced to black rust in piping, water discoloration and clogging due to red rust will improve, and pipes will also gain strength.

A. Pipetector can prevent oxidation and deterioration damage on copper as well.

Copper pipes are oxidized in the same mechanism as iron; this is why Pipetector can also prevent new oxidation damage in copper pipes. However, existing copper corrosion cannot be reduced because it has no iron ions.

A. For issues regarding calcium scales, please see Non-Scalor.

Please refer to our anti-calcium scale device Non-Scalor. It is also effective for scales that adhere inside heat exchangers. Non-Scalor will be more effective when it is used together with \Pipetector.
