The Great Hall was built in the fourteenth century, listed as a Grade-1 site where many high-profile functions being held. Within the complex situated at the West Wing which was built in 1974, one unit of NMR Pipetector PT-100DS was installed on the domestic hot water pipework which was experiencing water discoloration problem due to internal corrosion.
Only 3 weeks after the installation of NMR Pipetector, Fe content decreased from 6.36 mg/l to 0.015 mg/l which means that corrosion (FeO (OH)) inside the pipework was terminated and reduced into magnetite (Fe3O4) which does not dissolve into water. From then on, NMR Pipetector will protect the pipework from any internal corrosion and water discoloration in excess of forty years.
