Here are some feedbacks from our customers who are actually using NMR Pipetector.
NMR Pipetector installation date: August 2001
A 25-year-old building had several red rust blockage progressing at dissimilar metal joints in its domestic cold-feed water piping. In order to avoid pipe replacement that could take place in the near future, NMR Pipetector, which costs less than 1/10 of pipe replacement, was installed before the red rust blockage progresses further. As a result, the blockage in the joints improved as the red rust was reduced to black rust as shown below. The management association of the apartment excluded the planned cost of major pipe replacement from their operating budjet and used the extra budget to improve the apartment asset value, such as exterior painting and rooftop waterproofing.
*Most domestic cold-water pipes are vinyl chloride lining steel pipes, a kind of steel pipe whose inner surface is coated with vinyl chloride. Red rust develops at pipe joints where vinyl chloride cannot cover physically, and this makes residents difficult to notice issues regarding corrosion since water discoloration is hardly seen from vinyl chloride piping. As pipe inside gets narrow with red rust, water pressure cannot rise, and entire piping is exposed to a very heightened risk of water leaks. Even worse, worn-out pipe joints may drop off due to vibration caused by earthquake.
NMR Pipetector installation date: August 1996
A 12-year-old condominium was considering replacing its domestic cold-water piping to stainless steel pipe to prevent red rust blockage inside. However, the cost for the replacement was estimated at about a million U.S. for each building, so the condo installed NMR Pipetector instead, which costed less than 1/20 of that of pipe replacement work.

House No.2 | 37.3% |

Blockage ratios were measured at two kitchens' water pipe joints in two different houses before installing NMR Pipector. After 12 months, the ratio at a pipe joint was reduced to 60% from 77.5%, and the ratio at the other pipe joint was reduced to 31% from 37.3%. After 27 months, the ratios were further reduced to 58.5% and 23.3% at the two pipe joints respectively. These results proved that the red rust blockage greatly improved by being reduced to black rust.
*JSP arranges a scientific report for any buildings/facilities we implement a site survey on vinyl chloride lining steel pipe.
*Please note that endoscopic survey is only for buildings in Japan
NMR Pipetector installation Date: March 2007
Left: Before installation Right: 3 weeks after installation
Water was discolored in brown, sampled from circulating air-conditioning heating/chilled water piping's drain valve on a No.1 heat exchanger return pipe, which is made of galvanized steel. A water testing revealed a serious development of corrosion inside the piping as iron content was 5.1 ㎎/ℓ in the water. Three weeks after installation of NMR Pipetector, a water sample was crystal clear, revealed from the water taken under the same conditions as before, and its iron content was below 0.03 ㎎/ℓ.
*The water was not changed to new during the trial test
NMR Pipetector installation date: August 1998
NMR Pipetector installation date: August 1998
NMR Pipetector was installed in Aug. 1998 for prevention of red rust and limescale inside a circulating condenser water piping (galvanized steel piping) used for cooling down robots for welding car parts at a factory of a Japanese major automobile maker. Before the installation, their entire product lines stopped frequently as the condenser pipes for welding robots were blocked with red rust. After the installation, the red rust inside the piping was reduced to black rust, thus clog inside the condenser pipes was eliminated. By this, the product lines became almost completely free from any line stoppage.
NMR Pipetector installation date: January 2007
Recognized for its excellent ability to protect pipes inside, NMR Pipetector was installed on all of the sanitary and air-conditioning water pipes of a new hospital at the time of its construction. 18 years have past since then, but no issues have been reported in relation to red rust.
