Office Victoria is located next to the Thistle Westminster Hotel, where Pipetector is also adopted, and the office is managed by Land Securities, one of the UK’s leading property companies.
To protect its hot water pipework from internal corrosion, the office installed one Pipetector PT-50DS on a 2-inch hot water cylinder connected to a galvanized steel flow pipe on January 5, 2007.
After 24 days, the average iron-ion content in the water considerably dropped from 1.93 mg/ℓ to less than 0.007 mg/ℓ and was kept at 0.01 mg/ℓ after 35 days.
These iron-ion contents were much lower than the British standard for drinking water quality at 0.2 mg/ℓ. It means Pipetector immediately terminated the new formation of corrosion inside the pipework and reduced the existing corrosion into magnetite, which does not dissolve in water. Pipetector will now protect inside the pipework from any internal corrosion.
