The Guildhall is the headquarter of the City of London Corporation municipality and is the world’s heritage site. The Guildhall has many buildings, including the Great Hall built in the 14th century, and is listed as a grade-1 site where many high-profile functions occur.
The Guildhall installed one Pipetector PT-100DS on the domestic hot water pipework experiencing issues regarding water discoloration caused by internal corrosion in a complex situated at the hall’s West Wing constructed in 1974.
Only 3 weeks after the installation, Pipetector reduced Fe content from 6.36 mg/L to 0.015 mg/L. This indicates that Pipetector terminated the new corrosion inside the pipework and reduced the existing corrosion to magnetite, which does not dissolve in water. Pipetector will now protect the pipework from any internal corrosion and water discoloration over forty years.
