Located in Victoria, London, Thistle Westminster Hotel is one of the deluxe modern hotels with 134 guest rooms managed by Land Securities, a leading property company in the UK.
To protect the hotel’s hot water pipework, the hotel installed two Pipetector PT-75DS on its independent domestic hot water headers supplying hot water throughout the hotel.
24 days after the installation, water’s average iron content considerably decreased to 0.028 mg/ℓ from 1.463 mg/ℓ, and 0.0145 mg/ℓ after 35 days, and then to 0.01 mg/ℓ after 150 days.
The iron levels are all much lower than the British standard for drinking water set at 0.2 mg/ℓ. These results indicate Pipetector immediately terminated the new formation of corrosion inside the pipework and reduced existing corrosion into magnetite, which does not dissolve in water. Continuous use of Pipetector will protect the pipework from any internal corrosion as long as the building’s lifespan.
